The History of the Buchserhof

1971

In 1971, the Keller family sold the hotel. Since then, it has changed hands several times.

1978

In the spring of 1978

In the spring of 1978

In the spring of 1978, the hotel was purchased by the Dörig family. The old building and the hotel’s surroundings are being redesigned. With the arrival of the new owners, the “Grüneck” will lose its traditional name and be renamed after the Buchser family: Hotel Buchserhof. The old hotel rooms will be demolished and replaced with a state-of-the-art hotel wing, a lobby, and a banquet hall.

Ongoing improvements to hotel rooms, infrastructure, and facilities, as well as the addition of 5 state-of-the-art business rooms.

The restaurant and dining room are being renovated, and a new outdoor terrace is being built.

Switchboard and Reception

The reception area is getting a makeover, and modern telephone systems are being put into operation. The Internet is also making its way into the hotel, and every hotel room is getting its own Internet connection.

A change in leadership at the Buchserhof. Petra and Andreas Müller are the second generation to run the family business.

Renovation of 22 Rooms – Phase 1

Renovation of 22 Rooms – Phase 1

22 state-of-the-art and stylishly furnished hotel rooms are being completed. Warm, inviting colors and the latest generation of flat-screen TVs make the rooms feel like a second home. Each room has its own safe, and a minibar is also available.

2007

Renovation of 22 Rooms – Phase 2

Renovation of 22 Rooms – Phase 2

An additional 22 hotel rooms will be completely renovated. In addition, a business corner equipped with a computer and printer will be set up on the first floor of the hotel. It will be available to hotel guests free of charge day and night.

Renovation of 8 Rooms – Phase 3

Renovation of 8 Rooms – Phase 3

In Phase 3, the last 8 hotel rooms will be remodeled and renovated.

A cozy rattan lounge is being set up in the lower part of the terrace.

44 showers, bathrooms, and restrooms are being completely renovated.

Kitchen Renovation

The kitchen will be completely renovated and brought up to the latest standards.

Laundry

The in-house laundry facility is being renovated, and new washing machines and ironing machines are being put into service.

2015

Hotel Room Renovation

After eight years, 22 hotel rooms are undergoing a minor renovation, and the entire building is being equipped with an electronic door-locking system.

2018-2020

The Major Renovation

The entire ground floor is being completely renovated. New banquet and seminar rooms are being built, equipped with state-of-the-art seminar technology and infrastructure. The projector has been phased out, and presentations are now given using large smartboards. An inviting, open reception area with a welcoming foyer is being created.

2022+2024

New Hotel Rooms

52 hotel rooms will be completely renovated once again and given a modern, timeless design
